Lady Bucs in State Tournament next week

The Bowling Green Lady Bucs softball team entered postseason play Saturday in the South State tournament held in Monroe, Louisiana.

In Saturday’s first game of the tournament, Kylee Burris and Olivia Serigne combined to shutout Canton Academy 6-0. The Lady Bucs dropped the second game to Riverfield Academy by a score of 7-2. The Lady Bucs bounced back to defeat Columbia Academy 3-0 behind Madelyn Burch’s no-hitter.

Early Monday the Lady Bucs shut out Tri-County 6-0. Bowling Green then dropped a 3-2 decision to Riverield Academy.

The Lady Bucs will enter next week’s State Tournament as the #3 seed from the South and will take on the North #2 seed.
