Pine, Franklinton to open play-off action this Friday at home

Both the Pine Raiders and the Franklinton Demons have made it into the state football playoffs. Both teams will open playoff action with home games this Friday night. Pine will host Port Barre. Pine hold a lofty #7 seed in the Class 2A playoffs while Port Barre is a #26 seed. Franklinton will host Carver. Franklinton holds the #14 seed in the Class 4A playoffs while Carver is the #19 seed. Pine advanced to the playoffs after defeating Varnado in the regular season finale for the Raiders. Pine took a 47-32 win over their cross-parish rivals. Franklinton's final regular season game was a win over Pearl River. The Demons won by the score of 43 to 28. Both teams, Pine and Franklinton, are looking for a strong turnout from their local fans this Friday night as they attempt to win and move on to the 2nd round of the playoffs.
