Pine grad Derrick Dillon headed for Shrine Bowl

Derrick Dillon, an LSU wide receiver and a Pine High School graduate, will play in the East-West Shrine Bowl, the all-star game announced late Monday.

The Shrine Bowl is the longest running college football All-Star game in the United States. It will be played on January 18, 2020 at the Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Dillon is a 5-foot-11, 186-pound senior. He has had nine receptions for 152 yards and 2 touchdowns this season. Dillon started in three games this season while sophomore Terrace Marshall was recovering from foot surgery.

In his career at LSU, Dillon has recorded 45 receptions, 584 yards, and 4 touchdowns. The former Pine Raider standout is best known at LSU for his 71-yard, fourth-quarter touchdown reception against Auburn last season, which led to Cole Tracy's game-winning field goal as the clock ran out.
