Unusual school year is now underway

"Back To School" is now underway in Washington Parish as Bowling Green students started classes last Thursday.
Washington Parish public schools are scheduled to start classes this coming Monday, August 17, although teachers reported for duty on Monday of this wee.
As seen in the photo above, the Bowling Green students are wearing facemasks and are socially distanced with three students per table. These same standards will be used when public schools start on August 17.
Bowling Green is implementing a normal schedule this school year. Changes are for class size, face masking, and social distancing. The school is using every space available in order to keep class sizes small.
The Washington Parish schools will start with a hybrid plan, where half of the students will attend classses on Mondays and Wednesdays, and the other half will attend on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Fridays will be reserved for deep cleaning of all schools and teacher preparation. On days when students do not attend classes in person, they will still have virtual lessons via computer.
