Miss Kamryn Ross Passman, daughter of Billy and Lesley Passman of Franklinton, won the Louisiana Veterans of Foreign Wars Teen Miss Beauty pageant on June 7 in Alexandria. Miss Passman is a junior at Bowling Green School and also won the VFW Voice of Democracy essay contest at the Post, District and State levels.

Each year, the Louisiana Sheriffs' Association awards sixty-four scholarships to worthy Louisiana high school graduates to provide assistance in furthering their education and training. One student is selected from each parish by the Sheriff of that parish.
