Former Bogalusa Chamber director indicted for theft

District Attorney Warren Montgomery reports that a Washington Parish grand jury indicted Marilyn G. Bateman, 77, of Bogalusa, Tuesday (July 21) on a charge of theft over $25,000.

Mrs. Bateman, age 77, was the longtime director of the Bogalusa Chamber of Commerce. She is accused of stealing at least $100,000 from the organization over a period of time.

Assistant District Attorney Blair B. Alford presented the case to the grand jury.
