The coaches of district 7-4A have released their all district football selections for the 2024 season. The district is made up of Franklinton, Hannan, Lakeshore, Loranger and Pearl River.
Franklinton, the division II non select state quarterfinalist was well represented with seven first team selections and six second team selections.
On the offensive side Demons senior quarterback, Jacob Crain, was voted first team quarterback as well as Offensive MVP. Crain was selected on the first team and voted MVP last season as well. This is only the second time an FHS offensive player has been selected as MVP in consecutive seasons with the other being Terrance Magee in 2009 and 2010. Crain ends his high school career as the all time passer in school history.
Crain's top two targets were also selected to the first team. Junior Jayden Burkhalter and senior DaMikies McClain each caught for roughly 1000 yards each and McClain is the only FHS receiver to go over 1000 yards receiving in a single season.
On the defensive side of the ball, senior defensive lineman Sam Braddy, senior linebacker Rajon Covington, junior defensive back Chakyn McClain and junior linebacker Tyler Magee.
On the second team offense were junior back Ricardo Burris, senior offensive lineman David Moore and senior tightend Dalton Freeman. Second team defensive player selected were juniors Devin Harris a defensive lineman, linebacker Demontre Taylor and defensive back Taylor McCray.
Coach Brent Indest, coach of the district champion, Lakeshore Titans was selected as district Coach of the Year.
