Judge William H. “Billy” Burris of Franklinton, a conservative jurist and lifelong Republican, has announced his candidacy for the Louisiana Supreme Court, District 1.
The District 1 seat on the court became vacant upon Justice Will Crain’s appointment to a federal judgeship. Like Burris, Crain is also a native of Washington Parish.
