Parish Council approves moratorium on solar farms

Before the start of the March 22 Parish Council meeting, a Public Hearing was held for an ordinance supplementing the "No Thru Truck Routes" ordinance to add Sam Smith Road and Turkey Road. Later, during the actual meeting, the ordinance was adopted. The two roads are now officially “No Thru Truck Routes”.

Two weeks ago, historic Mile Branch Settlement on the Fairgrounds suffered plenty of damage because of falling trees in a major storm.

Now, adding insult to injury, 4 young vandals struck at Mile Branch this past Saturday, creating more problems for the volunteers who were already working to recover from the storm damage.

Gov. John Bel Edwards announced that Louisiana is now ready to offer the COVID-19 vaccine to anyone who wants it.
Edwards announced that starting Monday (March 29), anyone 16 and older living in Louisiana will be eligible to receive the COVID-19.
