Two candidates will be on the March 29 ballot to fill the District 8 seat on the Washington Parish School Board.
The seat is up for a special election due to the death of board member Frankie Crosby last year. His widow, Tricia Crosby, was appointed to the seat following his death but she did not choose to run in the special election.
Candidates who filed are both Franklinton residents.
They are: Amanda Dillon, a Democrat, of 1809 Desmare Street, Franklinton; and Alainna Lindsey-Holmes, a Republican, of 2115 Clairain Drive, Franklinton.
The winner will fill the remainder of Frankie Crosby’s term, which ends in 2026.
In addition to the election for the District 8 School Board seat, the March 29 ballot will also contain four proposed State of Louisiana Constitutional amendments.
Early voting will take place from March 15 through March 22.
