Franklinton and Washington Parish have a special connection to the Louisiana State University Golden Band from Tigerland this year, as 2026 LSU Drum Major Dylan Rousselle has family ties to the area.
Rousselle is the son of Darryl and Robin Bergin Rousselle of Baton Rouge. His mother, Robin, is a 1989 graduate of Bowling Green School. His grandparents, Ray and Kitty Bergin, reside in the Sunny Hill community near Mt. Hermon. Dylan's grandmother, Elberta Rousselle, and the late Ernst Rousselle, lives in Bridge City, Louisiana.
Rousselle has been a member of the LSU Golden Band from Tigerland since his freshman year and has enjoyed being part of one of LSU's most historic traditions. This year, he was selected to serve as the band's drum major, a leadership role that places him out front and center of the band during LSU football games and other university events.
Dylan's connection to the LSU band extends to his younger brother, Dalton, a sophomore at LSU. Dalton is also a talented member of the Golden Band from Tigerland, where he plays tenor on the drumline.
In addition to his commitments to the band, Dylan is a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. He is scheduled to graduate from LSU in December 2026, with a degree in biological engineering.
With his leadership on the field and his family roots in Washington Parish, Dylan Rousselle is giving friends and family in the Franklinton area another reason to cheer for the Tigers, and to take pride in one of their own leading the Golden Band from Tigerland!
