Four new Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies recently completed their POST-1 certification at the Capital Region Training Academy at Baton Rouge.
Following their training for this initial certification, the new deputies will begin three months of field training with experienced supervisors.
Deputies who received the certification and will now being their field training are Hunter Cook, Darius Martinez, Alex Martin, and James Seal.
The POST-1 certification academy training consists of four months of intense training that prepares Law Enforcement Professionals for success in their fields. Recruits are put through rigorous courses in Law Enforcement, emergency management, medical triage, crime scene investigation, firearms and non-lethal training, physical fitness and self-defense training, and the ethics and philosophies that will guide them in their duties.
