Almost 400 young people from across Washington Parish gathered at Pine High School last week for the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office Unity Youth Summer Camp.
Now in its second year, the camp offers parish youths an opportunity during summer vacation to spend time meeting their peers, playing games and sports, learning important life skills, and participating in drug prevention activities.
Sheriff Jason Smith commented, “A special thank you goes out to all counselors, teachers, volunteers, Pine Junior and Senior High School, and every church, business and family who donated to make sure as many children as possible could attend.”
