To say that we had a lot of rain last week is somewhat of an understatement. Here in my neck of the woods (Angie) we had a significant number of downpours. For instance, last Saturday afternoon I was driving on a familiar, paved road that unexpectedly had water flowing quickly and rushing through it. The culverts were not clogged; the issue was that the rain was coming down really fast. When I got to my road there was so much standing water that it was almost impassable. I managed to go around through higher ground to eventually get home. Once I stepped inside my home I was greeted with a power outage. Please understand that I am stating facts but not complaining because God is and has been too good to me. You see, earlier in the day I had visited two nursing homes (Franklinton & Bogalusa) to check on two dear relatives. Each time I visit them I think about how someone could be visiting me and I am Thankful. These two individuals never cease to amaze me with their show of Faith, strength, resilience, appreciation and sense of humor. So, the rain that produced the flash flooding and the power outage did not discourage me because I know that no matter what, God is in Control.
