Hello Everyone and Welcome August! I hope this 8th month of the year is a Peaceful one for us all.
Wesley Ray UMC:
Youth Sunday was held on July 27th. The Youth did the service of lights, read scriptures, ushered and sang in the choir. Rev. Terrence August preached the morning sermon which was entitled: Lord Teach Us to Pray (Luke 11:1 & James 5:16). Pastor August reminded us that Prayer Changes Things, we just need to be Faithful and Trust God. Amen.
Mt. Zion MBC (Varnado):
*The Annual Revival is still going on Wednesday & Thursday (Aug. 6th/7th) @ 7pm nightly. All are invited and welcome to attend.
School News:

*The first day of school is on Thursday, August 7th. Have a safe and happy beginning of the school year to everyone at both schools. May the 2025-2026 school year be filled with peace and productivity.
Reflections:
*The following Rayburn Correctional Center employees were recognized for their accomplishments: Master Sergeant Jason Williams named Correctional Officer and Mrs. Tiffany Dupre named Support Employee for the Month of June. In addition, Major Derek Mingo/ was named Security Supervisor and Mrs. Tiffany Nolan was named Non-Security Supervisor of the 2nd Quarter for 2025.
Lastly, six cadets from Academy Class 270 completed the training program on July 25, 2025. A graduation ceremony was held at the Rayburn Correctional Center for the following graduates: George Bahm, Ashleigh Blakeney, Johnny Forbes, Kimberly Holloway, Yasmine Pope and Denford Smith. Congratulations to All!
