It’s October already and I hope everyone is making time to enjoy this beautiful weather. I have even managed to open a window or two to “air out” my home. Thank God for this relief from the heat. #JesusIsTheReasonForAllSeasons

First MBC (Varnado):
On Sept. 27th from 9am-12pm the church held a “Prayer Tent” session for anyone that desired to be prayed for. I had the opportunity to stop by and was helped by the prayers offered. Amen.
School News:
Varnado High School (VHS/VJHS):
*Congratulations to the VJHS Homecoming Queen and the King, the
VHS Homecoming Queen and the King, as well as the participants of the homecoming court. Your school and community are proud of you!
* The Homecoming Dance for both the Jr. High and High School was held this past weekend. The theme for the dance was “The Village Rewind Edition; Get ready to kick it back to the 90’s!” Both groups attended at the following times: (6th – 8th Graders): 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM and
(9th – 12th Graders): 9:00 PM – 11:00 PM.
*The FFA attended the Area IV C.O.L.T. Conference at Slidell High School on Saturday, September 27th. They are off to a great start this year.
Reflections:
* On Supporting Our Youth: The Greater Center Baptist Youth Team & Sister for Sister Inc. held a “Movie Matinee” from 3-5pm. This event took place at the Pride and Hope Ministry Activity Building in Angie, LA and included fun and games. We as a community can never go wrong by providing good, wholesome activities for our children. Thank you to all who worked to make this event a reality and my many more follow.
