Well everyone it’s the last Wednesday in the month of October and it has been a month filled with lots of activity. From my going on a trip to Branson MO to attending the Fair, I’ve had a wonderful October. I hope you have fond memories too.

Wesley Ray UMC:
*On Youth Sunday October 26th, Pastor Terrence August’s Sermon was taken from the book of Luke 18:9-14 and was entitled: When Prayer Misses the Point/Mark. He reminded us that when we pray a selfish prayer just for ourselves and not for others, we miss the point/mark.
First MBC (Varnado):
*October is Pastor Appreciation Month and the church congregation honored Bro. Kelly Penton, Pastor and Bro. Mike Mathews, Youth Pastor for their Faithful Service.
*Also, you still have time to attend the Trunk or Treat on today/Wednesday, @ 6pm.
New Zion:
*Youth Sunday Service was held on October 26th. Rev. James Magee of Milwaukee WI delivered the sermon. The scripture was taken from Isaiah 45:22 and the sermon was entitled: Turn to God and live.

*Congratulations to both the Jr. High Student of the Year, 8th grader Bryanna Nichols and the High School Student of the Year Senior Zhyiah Washington.
*Red Ribbon Week began on Oct, 27th & continues through Oct. 31st. The following are the daily themes: Band Together Against Drugs, Team Up for a Drug-Free Life; Red-y To Be Drug Free, Stand Strong Stay Drug Free and Say Boo to Drugs.

* Red Ribbon Week began on Oct. 27th & continues through Oct. 31st. The daily themes are: Rally in Red, Too Bright for Drugs, Dress for Success, Team Up Against Drugs and Happy Halloween costumes or orange shirts.

*On Community Involvement: ***The Rayburn Correctional Center located in Angie will be having a Fall Arts & Crafts Show on Saturday, November 1st from 9am-3pm. This event will be held at the Rayburn Correctional Center.
