Hello Everyone it’s the 1st Wednesday in December and the temperatures outside feel like it. I hope you all are bundling up and staying dry when necessary to maintain a state of physical wellness. These cold temperatures mixed with rain can work havoc on the body if not properly clothed.
I’d like to share that on Sunday, November 23rd I had the opportunity to attend my former church’s 134th Anniversary Service. This blessed event took place in Ocean Spring, MS where my family resided for over 26 years. Though I am a Washington Parish native (via Angie), all three of our children attended and graduated from the Ocean Springs School District. The celebration began with breakfast, a memorial service complete with pictured candles and morning worship with Rev. Larry Williams preaching. This was followed by an afternoon service in which I had the pleasure of singing with the adult choir, like I did so many years ago. The day concluded with dinner being served and fellowshipping with one another. I felt like I had attended a family reunion and was so very Thankful for the opportunity to attend.

Reflections:
*On “Making-It-Right: I had a recent encounter with a former student that I taught a few years ago. While out running errands, I stopped at a restaurant for breakfast and recognized the cashier as one of my former students. I smiled and greeted her warmly, as I am accustomed to doing when a former student crosses my path and the “warmth” is usually returned.
This was not the case with this young lady. She was indifferent but professional and it was obvious that she was not “that” happy to see me and I remembered why. You see my classroom experience with this former student had been challenging behavior-wise. So based on our last experience I deserved her reaction.
I proceeded to eat and read leisurely while meditating on “how I could fix this”.
Before I left the restaurant I spoke privately with her and shared that I loved her. Then she smiled and I felt relieved.
Ya’ll, I did not want to be a “sore-spot” in this young lady;s life. I got the opportunity to correct a situation revealed to me and I actively sought out to “Make-It-Right”. I hope my sharing helped someone.
