***Another week in April is behind us and hopefully there are more to come. The “April showers” have been few and far between but, thankfully, not non-existent.
The rain showers are particularly needed in order for our food supply to flourish. Both our home and industrial gardens must have rain to produce so that we can have food to eat. I am aware that too much rain in a short period of time can produce flooding and for this reason I pray that it doesn’t.
Regardless of my or our personal feelings/observations, nature will have its way without asking for our permission. May all of our gardening efforts big and small be successful and don’t forget to share your harvest with others.
***Much Gratitude is extended to Mrs. Myra Magee and the Pride & Hope Ministry’s Ole Hickory Restaurant staff for the “Giving Back to Our Community” free lunch, on Good Friday. I was able to attend and enjoy a delicious hot meal with my neighbors. (It is more blessed to give than to receive. Acts 20:35)
Church News:
Live Oak UMC: Easter Service was held at 8:30am with Rev. Aniece Moses delivering the sermon. She reminded us that Jesus’s Resurrection represents Victory & Hope. He Is Risen! (Matthew 28:6)
School News:
Varnado High School (VHS/VJHS) & Wesley Ray Elem. (WRE):
*Both schools have been on Spring Break since Good Friday. Let’s all remember to increase our awareness for the safety of our children, as they move about. I pray that all faculty, staff, students, parents and guardians have a safe, fun Spring Break.
Reflections:
*On R & R (Rest & Relaxation): We all need a little R & R from time to time. Our bodies require it in order to function properly. Rest is often related to sleep, which is indeed essential, but can be as simple as sitting still, feet elevated, observing your surroundings…chilling. Relaxation, on the other hand, usually involves doing things that we enjoy such as: fishing, vacationing, hiking, shopping, gardening, etc. Whatever your choice is for activity or non-activity for R & R just make sure to “Do It”.
