Hello Everyone, I want to begin my article this week with a very special and personal tribute for Black History Month for my grandmother, Mrs. Emily Elizabeth (Young) Moses. She is a proud native and life-long resident of Washington Parish and the oldest of seven born to Samuel and Clara Young. She and the youngest sibling (Loretta) are the only two still with us (deceased siblings are: William, Joseph, Carrie, Amy & Sam). My Grandmother is presently 104 years old, having been born on August 23, 1920. She continues to express how good God is and constantly advises that whenever one has a problem just “Say a Prayer and Sing a Song”. Mama Em sings for family and friends often when requested or at any given moment. I now even find myself humming and singing the Gospel songs that she has so beautifully modeled before us. I appreciate all that she is to our family and I Thank God for letting her be “My Grandmother”. Amen #Jesus
