Hello Everyone I hope you are staying cool and hydrated. I’ve been intentionally paying attention to staying hydrated, after my experience with dehydration last summer. It was not fun at all. I had to seek medical attention and do not want to go that way again. As for staying cool, July in the south is going to be hot so, be wise and don’t overdo it.
*The Village of Angie/City Hall sponsored a decorating contest to celebrate America's 250th Anniversary, on July 4th. Church News
Mary’s Chapel UMC:
*VBS was held on July 13th-15th and I had the privilege to teach the 2nd/3rd grade class. In addition, classes were held for all ages. The lessons, crafts and food were all centered around exhibiting God’s Love.
*The church will host a “Fun Day” event on Saturday, July 18th beginning @ 12 noon. The community is invited to attend.
Live Oak UMC:
*The VBS was held on July 10th & 11th for all ages. Opportunities to learn about the Word of God could be seen throughout all activities. The children were treated to fun & games (water slide, etc.) that promoted unity. I had the pleasure of attending on the 11th and enjoyed fellowshipping with everyone.

Varnado High School (VHS/VJHS):
* Congratulations to FFA members William and Taluan on attending the VitaFerm Junior National Hereford Expo in Madison, Wisconsin from July 4–10, 2026, at the Alliant Energy Center, Lewis Hereford Farm. In addition, Taluan was crowned the Gulf South Louisiana Association Hereford Queen prior to traveling to this event. Good Job and Best wishes in your future endeavors.
Reflections:
***On Youth & Seniors: I was invited to and attended Senior Citizen’s Luncheon last week by First Baptist Church SAM (Senior Adult Ministry), in Franklinton. The theme for this occasion was “Bridging the Gap” (with our Youth). The sharing of food, fun and discussion was enlightening. As one who has both children and grandchildren, I can attest to the fact that our Youth need us. May we all continue to strive to better communicate and support our Youth. ***Let Love Abound, GPigott***
