***Hello Everyone! It’s August and it’s hot but we must still count our Blessings and be Thankful in every situation. Yes, it could be better and it could also be worse. Take a moment to think about the fact that a half a glass of water can be both half empty and half full. I choose to see it as half full. How about you?
Church News:
*Pastor Johnson’s Sermon Series for the Angie Charge this month is: “One Vision, Three Churches, One Kingdom” Nehemiah 2:18
*Wesley Ray UMC: Worship Experiences are on 2nd - 4th Sundays at 11:00am. ***The Members of the Southeast District United Women In Faith gathered at WRUMC to participate in a “Mini Mission U” workshop, on Saturday, August 1st. The workshop consisted of interactive small group activities and a session on “Experiencing Emmanuel” in Adversity. The fellowship was both educational and inspiring.
Mary’s Chapel UMC: Worship Experiences are on 2nd Sundays at 2pm and 3rd Sundays at 11am.
Live Oak UMC: Worship Experiences are on 1st & 3rd Sundays at 8:30am. *On Sunday, August 2nd Pastor Johnson’s sermon was entitled: “Let Us Rise Up and Build” (Nehemiah 2:11-20). He reminded us that we should be like Nehemiah and “Stop looking at what was and start looking at what can be”. Rev. Johnson shared that rebuilding begins with showing compassion, love and trust and realizing that everyone has a place, a voice and a responsibility in unifying our charge. #It’s All About Jesus.
Mt. Zion MBC (Varnado):
*There is still time to attend some of the Anniversary Revival on August 5th & 6th (Wed. & Thurs.) beginning at 7pm nightly.
*New Zion:
*The 76th Year Church Anniversary “Homecoming” Celebration will be on Sunday, August 9th beginning @ 11am. Pastor Bruce Brown Sr. will be the guest speaker. The theme for this great occasion is: Go! Who? Me? (Nehemiah 1:6-7). The church will also host a 3-Night Revival on August 10th, 11th & 12th (M-W) beginning at 7pm nightly. Pastor Sidney Burns will be the evangelist.

*Pastor Robert Johnson of the Angie Charge was one of the presenters that spoke to the VHS Student Council, during the school's “Leadership Summit” last week. Community involvement is essential for our children/students to be successful. #They Need 2C Us
Wesley Ray Elem. (WRE):
* Grades 1st-5th report for their 1st day of school on Thursday, August 6th.

Ya’ll it is going to take both the members of the family and the community working with the schools for our students to have a successful school year. Let’s develop and/or continue to communicate with one another. Try not to wait until there’s a problem but instead be intentional about “keeping in touch” with your child’s/children’s school. May this school year be the best year ever.
