Barbara Ann Saragusa Varnado, 75, passed away Thursday afternoon December 12, 2024 at The Lodge at Tangi-Pines in Amite. She was born in Independence on October 22, 1949 and was a former resident of Franklinton. Barbara enjoyed drawing and had a special place in her heart for her pets and other animals. She always enjoyed visiting with her family and friends and spending time with her friends at the social activities at The Lodge.

2 Sons and Daughters in law: Rusty and Brooke Varnado of Ponchatoula, Jody Kirk and Nikki Varnado of the Stony Point Community
Daughters: Robin Varnado of Pine, Wendy Neu of Amite
Son in law: Robert Jenkins of Crestview, FL
Grandchildren: Karlie, Shelby, Daisy, Matthew, Heather, Cody, Josh, Robert, James
Sister: Catherine Robertson of Independence
Brothers and Sisters in law: Joe and Sadie Saragusa, Guy and Marilyn Saragusa, Johnny and Janice Saragusa all of Independence
Also numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Wendy Falcone Jenkins, husband Russell Kirk Varnado, grandson Tyler Brock Phelps, parents John Joseph Saragusa and Josephine Labat Saragusa, sisters Rosemary, Mary Ann, brother Gaspar, brother in law Allen Robertson.
The family wishes to express a sincere thank you to the staff of Tangi-Pines nursing home for the years of caring support and the genuine love they showed to Barbara.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home (1109 Bene Street, Franklinton) on Wednesday December 18th from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Wednesday with Bro. Don McDaniel officiating. Burial will follow in Knight Memorial Gardens in the Enon Community.
