BrendaBates, 50, a resident of Franklinton passed away early Sunday morning October 4, 2026 at North Oaks Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born in Bogalusa on October 27, 1975 and attended the Franklinton schools before later graduating from Amite High School. Brenda worked as a manager at Piggly Wiggly in Angie for a time and also worked at the Quick Stop Groceries along Hwy. 51 in Tangipahoa Parish. She later worked at the Jackson Hewitt offices in Bogalusa and Franklinton. Brenda touched the lives of so many and she was committed to helping others anyway that she could. She served her community for many years on the Washington Parish Volunteer Fire Department District #5 in Angie, serving as an EMR and also worked for the Washington Parish Coroner’s Office as an investigator among other duties. If someone needed help, Brenda was always eager to help. She enjoyed selling jewelry and had recently begun flower gardening. She loved having her fingernails done.
