Camille Idonia Snell Condalary, a beloved wife, mother, and friend, passed away peacefully in the care of hospice in McComb, Mississippi, on September 9, 2025. She was 88 years old.
Born on February 3, 1937, Camille was a lifelong resident of Mt. Hermon, Louisiana. She graduated from Mt. Hermon High School and soon after married the love of her life, Herbert Condalary. Together they shared a devoted marriage. During Herbert’s military service, they traveled to Cape Canaveral for 4 years before returning home to Mt. Hermon, where they established their own dairy farm beside the family farm of Doug and Robbie Snell.
Camille also built a successful career in tax preparation. She began her work alongside N. L. Smith in Franklinton before starting her own practice from home following the birth of their son, Jeffery Hunter Condalary, in 1969. Her family later grew with the arrival of their daughter, Julee Paige Condalary, in 1977.
An enterprising woman, Camille later opened a grocery store at Porter’s Curve, proudly carrying on the legacy of her father, Harold Mason Snell. Known for serving “the best burgers in Mt. Hermon,” she created a warm and welcoming space for her community. She later transitioned to healthcare, working as an admitting clerk at Riverside Hospital in Franklinton, where her kindness and dedication touched many lives.
After her retirement, Camille moved to McComb, Mississippi, to be closer to her children. She cherished time with her family and found great joy in traveling, entertaining, and cooking. Always eager to connect, she embraced Facebook in her later years, delighting in keeping up with family and friends near and far.
Camille is survived by her son, Jeffrey Hunter Condalary; her daughter, Julee Paige Condalary; and her son-in-law, Luis A. Rosa. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Robbie Schilling Snell; niece, Beverly Snell Thomas and husband, John E. Thomas, along with their children, M. Turner Hunter Jr., Spencer John Thomas, and Kathryn Paige Thomas of Baton Rouge; nephew, Scott Williams and his wife Sherry, in Brookhaven,Ms along with their children Jessica Renee Williams and her son David Williams ; and finally her nephew, Mark Snell of Madison, MS, and his son, John Mark Snell. She is also survived by many loving members of the Condalary family, including Janella Condalary, her daughter Patricia Condalary, Thelma Condalary and her son Derrick Condalary as well as her daughter Chris Condalary.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold Mason Snell and Lillie Mae Desmond Snell; her sister, Janice Williams, and her brother-in-law, Alva “James” Williams, as well as her nephew, Richard Williams; her brother, Wayne Snell, and her niece, Ava Snell Rives; and her brother, Douglas William Snell. She was also preceded in death by members of the Condalary family, her father- in-law James Condalary and her mother- in-law Ozzie Condalary, her brother-in- law Kinel Condalary, brother- in law Sherrod Condalary, as well as her nephews Marty Condalary and Greg Condalary.
A graveside service will be held at the Mt. Hermon Cemetery on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. All who wish to celebrate her life are warmly invited to attend.
Camille will be remembered for her love of family, her generous spirit, and her gift for making those around her feel welcomed and cherished. She was a lovely lady whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
