The Washington Parish Care Network recently celebrated its first anniversary, marking one year of bringing local organizations, healthcare providers and community partners together to improve health and well-being across Washington Parish.
The Network grew out of a Community Connect Workshop held in July 2025 through Riverside Medical Center’s participation in the Delta Region Community Health Systems Development (DRCHSD) Program.
Its first meeting was held at Riverside Medical Center in September 2025.
Since then, the Care Network has met at various locations throughout Washington Parish, giving members the opportunity to learn more about local organizations, available resources and ways to work together to meet community needs.
For its September 2026 meeting, the group returned to Riverside Medical Center, bringing the Network back to where its regular meetings first began and providing an opportunity to celebrate its first year.
One of the Network’s first community projects is a Blessing Box, which will soon be installed in front of Forshag’s Pharmacy to provide food, personal care products and other essential items for neighbors in need.
As the Washington Parish Care Network begins its second year, members look forward to continuing to build partnerships, connect resources and develop projects that support communities throughout the parish.
