Benchmark U.S. crude oil for May delivery rose $1.79 to $81.53 a barrel Tuesday. Brent crude for June delivery rose $1.43 to $85.61 a barrel.
Wholesale gasoline for May delivery rose 6 cents to $2.87 a gallon. May heating oil fell 1 cent to $2.67 a gallon. May natural gas rose 1 cent to $2.19 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Gold for June delivery rose $15.20 to $2,019.00 an ounce. Silver for May delivery rose 27 cents to $25.19 an ounce and May copper rose 4 cents to $4.02 a pound.
The dollar rose to 133.78 Japanese yen from 133.65 yen. The dollar fell to 0.9168 euro from 0.9209.
