I hope everyone is staying safe, healthy and well in this very cold weather. I have had to put on extra layers of clothing to protect myself from the freezing and sometimes below freezing temperatures. Don’t let your guard down during this damp, cold, weather and become sick. *The church congregation will celebrate their Pastor’s 7th year Anniversary on Sunday, February 20th at 1pm. Rev. Sidney Burns, Jr. is the Pastor and the church is located at: 62007 Hwy 438 Angie, La 70426. The Guest Speaker for this occasion is Rev. Nolan Robinson.

*JAMBALAYA Benefit Dinner “pick-ups” are scheduled for Friday, February 18th from 11a.m.-1p.m. Please contact Joe Davis @ 516-5231 or Robin Davis @ 750-2482 to purchase a dinner or give a donation. Dinners are $10 per plate.
(Via Varnado UMC facebook events) ***This is to benefit Danielle Davis, daughter of Albert and LaChrisia Davis, who is a heart transplant patient in New Orleans. The family and the church are hosting this event to help with her expenses. She has been in the hospital since November 2021 and will be moved to an apartment close to the hospital for a few months. We appreciate all the help you can give to her and her family. And please continue to pray for her and her family as she adjusts to the new heart!

*The 2022 Black History Program will be held on Friday, February 18, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. Because the National Theme is” Black Health & Wellness”, a Health and Wellness Expo will be held at 8:30 a.m. (prior to the program). The community is invited to receive health and wellness information from local businesses and organizations, in the gym. The guest speaker will be Rachel Weary, MSN a VHS 1991 graduate. Ms. Weary graduated from Dillard University School of Nursing with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) in 1995. She is also a 2000 graduate of The University of Phoenix – receiving her Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) in Healthcare Administration.
***Congratulations to Ms. Tanula Owens on being the 2021-2022 Middle/Junior High School Teacher of the year and to Mr. John Warren on being the 2021-2022 High School Teacher of the year.
***Mr. Warren is also the Washington Parish School System High School 2021-2022 Teacher of the Year!
