Life presents many opportunities for all of us to help others. If we equip ourselves with an open mind and have a sincere heart we can acquire the quality to discern what is best for us to do.
I recently had three encounters with strangers in Bogalusa within a three day period that has had a profound and positive effect on me. The first encounter took place while I was standing in a medical clinic parking lot talking on my cell phone. I noticed a young lady wearing a Sonic tee shirt walking by. I asked if she needed a ride and she quickly accepted. After dropping her off, as I was driving I noticed another young lady wearing a Hardee’s tee shirt walking down Columbia Street. Though I was thinking “Lord really?” …
I pulled over and asked if she needed a ride. She too did not hesitate to accept my offer. My final encounter took place two days later when I again was leaving a medical clinic. I was driving on Willis Ave. and noticed a lady in a Wendy’s tee shirt walking and she also accepted my invitation for a ride.
Now I’m not advocating nor suggesting that anyone should pick anyone up. I am aware of the potential dangers that exist. What I am doing is sharing my personal experiences with you. In conclusion, all of these ladies were on their way to work, they had no transportation and neither were they expecting any help. I Thank God that with His Help I was able to help them all, in their time of need. The “Golden Rule” states that we should: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you". Let’s continue to find ways to help one another.

*The Angie Charge (Live Oak, Mary’s Chapel and Wesley Ray UMC) held their 5th Sunday Joint Sunday School Classes on Sunday, July 31st. The classes presented a summary of what they learned after their sessions, refreshments were served and door prizes awarded.
