Well, the time has come for our summer to officially end, and school to begin. Teachers begin school August 1stand students will start on August 5th. I know the students are getting excited, but also feel the first day jitters coming on. Don’t worry y’all the teachers and staff do the same thing. I am ready to have more structure, I think. This year will be a great one for sure, so let’s get ready!
Sunday night, August 21st, Enon Baptist Church will be hosting Pastor Isaac and Shupe Makashinyi. They are from Lusaka, Zambia and will be visiting some of the churches and pastors who have been instrumental in their ministry. The next Ladies’ Bible Study will begin on August 17th. The Youth will be swimming on August 3rdand on August 10th will have Game Night at the Church. August 6th from 5pm to 10pm is Parents’ Night Out/Paint Party. Please let Mrs. Alice know if your child will be attending. August 13th from 10 am to 2 pm will be the Back-to- School Splashdown for children through 6th grade. The Ladies’ Marshmallow Olympics went over well this past weekend, and it was discovered that the ladies of the church are EXTREMELY competitive. On November 5ththere will be a churchwide Marshmallow Olympics. This is going to be an absolute blast. The Youth will be having a fundraiser for church t-shirts soon. Happy birthday to Eliska Magee Lynch, Tony Knight, our former pastor at Enon Baptist Church Dean Register, Belinda Jones Morales, Karl Casanova, and Suzi Thigpen Thomas.
Enon Elementary School will have Meet Your Teacher August 3rd and school will begin August 5thfor grades 1st through 6th. Pre-k and Kindergarten testing begins the week of August 8th. Please make sure you check out the School Calendar for when we will have virtual days. You can find a copy on either the Washington Parish School Board website or the school website.
The Enon Library will have Movie Marathon Thursdays at 3 pm for the month of August. August 11th will be Lego Jurassic World: The Secret Exhibit. Alissa Sanchez was the Back-to-School drawing winner. I am sure there will be last minute school shopping with my girls at some point this week. It seems like we are always last minute. I hope you all have a great week. Until next time…..
