Franklinton High School had Homecoming this past week. Each day had a dress up theme and boy was that entertaining to see. A former Enon Eagle Natalie Seal was crowned the 2024 FHS Homecoming Queen and the football team won 61-13. I got to visit with some friends and actually saw a high school friend that I haven’t seen since 1993! It was a great time filled with old and new memories.
Sunday night the Youth of Enon Baptist Church had their Outreach Night. It was heartwarming to help out and pray for others. October 5th is Game Night at the church and October 6th is Scavenger Hunt for the Youth. October 31st is Trunk-or-Treat from 6 pm to 7 pm. If you are planning on riding in the Washington Parish Free Fair Parade on the Enon Baptist Church float, please let Mrs. Alice know by Sunday. There will be a baby shower in honor of Hamp and Ashlea Robertson on October 12th from 1 pm to 3 pm at Bob and Cledy Watson’s home. October 8th the ladies will be watching “Pilgrim’s Progress” at Mrs. Diana Casanova’s house for 6 pm. October 10th will be a Prayer Walk around the Fairgrounds at 6 pm.
Condolences to the families of Corey Thomas, Albert James Lebo, Sr., and Cody Johnson.
Happy birthday to Beth Knight, J.T. Fussell, Wade FitzSimons, Krystal Talley Haddad, Nancy Knight, Haylie Stafford Dufour, and Phillis Corkern Van Boening.
On Friday Enon Elementary students ZEARNED popsicles! (They earned popsicles for doing so well on the Math program Zearn) We had an amazing time at our Open House last week. We had a Western Theme Open House with a petting zoo, cowboys and cowgirls, roping, horses, and a cutie named Jeffery the Alpaca. He was an absolute doll with his little bandana and sombrero. I think it is safe to say we had a great night! October 20th through 26th is National Friends of Libraries Week.
I am absolutely heartbroken for the people of North Carolina, Tennessee, Florida, South Carolina, etc. with the devastation of Hurricane Helene. This storm was their “Katrina” and I am praying daily that things will quickly get better for them. I just can’t imagine. Please pray for those affected and those who are missing.
I hope you all have a great week. Until next time…
