Thank you to each and every Veteran who has fought for our country and our rights. No matter if you were on the battlefield or at home protecting us and our rights, THANK YOU will never be enough. At our Veteran’s Program at church Sunday, I was overwhelmed with the pictures of people I knew and grew up around who are military. I am so thankful for my veteran friends and family.
I am so thankful for the rain we have had lately. The dust seems to have settled, and my grass is less crunchy. The ponds I pass on the way to work seem to be a tad fuller as well. Now if only the temperature will lower that would be fabulous!
Enon Baptist Church had Kid’s Movie Night Saturday Night. The children have been making popsicle stick panels and sent them in to the WMU (Women’s Missionary Union) Enon, and many other churches have sent in enough panels to build a HOUSEBOAT! The children did this to learn more about the Cooperative Program and what we can accomplish when we work TOGETHER! November 20th will be Wednesday Night Putt Putt.
The Washington Parish Food Bank is in need of canned vegetables, dried beans, juices, boxed rice sides, peanut butter, macaroni and cheese, and grits. The church is taking up Box Tops for Education, Community Coffee coupons, and aluminum can tabs for Ronald McDonald House.
Blessing of Food will be November 21st and 22nd. November 16th will be our Safety Seminar directed by David Anderson of the Louisiana Baptist Convention; lunch will be provided. November 24th will be our Annual Thanksgiving Supper at 6 pm,
bring a covered dish and join us! We will be decorating our sanctuary with poinsettias for the month of December. The poinsettias are $7 each and you can purchase them in honor or memory of someone. Please give your order form and payment to Jennifer Ginn by December 1st.

Happy birthday to Bonnie Jones, Haleigh Fornea, my WONDERFUL Aunt Charlotte Ginn, Andrew Manning, Byron Danos, Geraldine Penton, Emily Gonzalez, Samanth Newman, Teresa Mizell Milner, Karen Hunt Varnado, and one of our FABULOUS 4th grade teachers Jami Stevens.
This past week Enon Elementary School had a new principal (for the day) Miss Arabella Gay. She was able to be Mrs. Shannon for the day having achieved her goal of collecting the most money for our fundraiser. She really enjoyed herself! 6th grade completed an experiment using yeast and sugar. Boy let me tell you they thought it was really cool to watch what was in the cup “growing”. Kindergarten made 3D shape constructions, and 1st grade did shadow experiments outside.
My friend Theresa Holiday Hewston is the daughter of our local librarian Mrs. Winola Holiday. Theresa has written a book called The Rogue Samurai. The library will have a copy of it in the near future. The kiddos enjoyed watching Woody Woodpecker and some snacks on Thursday at the Enon Library.
Remember school will be out the week of November 25th-29th for Thanksgiving Break. I am so excited to have that week off. I will be celebrating my 49th birthday in some form or fashion and hope to maybe take a quick trip somewhere.
