Greetings from Savannah, Georgia! My girls and I, along with Franklinton High School Beta Club and LOTS of our other Beta Friends are here for the 2024 Beta Nationals! It is quite warm here, but we are having a great time and seeing lots of sights! I am pretty sure I have gotten a week’s worth of steps in in just two days. (on day 2 I had over 14,000 steps!) I will have more information on Savannah in next week’s column once we are back home. Also, I have some friends in Alaska right now who I may or may not want to trade places with weather wise. (haha)
Camp Fuego will be June 24th to June 28th. Our Youth are so excited to be going again this year. My daughter Gracie will be there as a camp counselor again this year, and Annalise will be a camper. I just love how much they enjoy going and learning more about the Lord.
Blessing of Food will be June 20th and 21st.
Condolences to the families of Donnie Sharp and Eda Makashinyi.
Happy birthday to Mason Inabnitt, Suzanna Hughes, Weston Sanson, Lesley Ann Modica, Lynette Polkey Brumfield, Todd Newman, Rose Green Bond, Amber Danos Prince, Nick Dufrene, and Molly Fussell Peck.
I hope each of you had a wonderful Father’s Day. For those of us without our dads I pray that you had a day filled with happy memories. June 16th would have been my mom and dad’s 62nd wedding anniversary. That has always been a day etched in my mind because we were usually in TN enjoying each other’s company. Their 25th anniversary (yes I remember it haha) it was raining and we had cake in our van in Cade’s Cove in front of “The Tree”. Their 50th anniversary I decided we would PARTY, and we had a reception held at Enon Baptist Church with lots of family and friends. (Remember my dad was 1 of 13 kids, there is a LOT of family) Their 60th anniversary we all spent it in the Cade’s Cove picnic area grilling, visiting, and enjoying our time together. Oh! And there was cake involved there as well.
Congratulations to Reilly Gibson on winning the Father’s Day Drawing from the Enon Library. He won a gift certificate to the Pine Malt Stand.
The Summer Reading Program has been a success so far! The Soul Heirs Brass Band will be performing for the library at 2 pm on June 21st. They will be performing at the Enon Elementary School Auditorium.
I hope you all have a safe and good week. Until next time….
