It’s fair week! I want to wish my son, Tristan Freeman, a happy happy birthday! He will be 18 years old this Sunday, October 20th.

MHS Jackettes dance team is having a garbage bag fundraiser. 30 gallon bags(50 per roll) and 55 gallon bags(25 per roll). The cost of both sizes is $13. Get your orders in by October 31st.
The Young at Hearts of Mt. Hermon United Pentecostal Church enjoyed their October outing at Golden Corral in McComb, Ms. There were 19 in attendance. To start things off, Lisa Miller read a scripture, and the blessing was given by Gerald Lebo. After the meal, Penny Patke read a poem titled, “The Prayer Knot”. Door prizes were won by Tracy Schexnider and Gerald Lebo.
Next month, they plan to meet November 14th at Mike’s Catfish in Amite. All who are 50 and older are welcome to come along.
Earlier in September, Rachel Gill, Christine King, Brenda Wilson and Donna Miller set sail on a 7 day Carnival cruise. They left out of New Orleans to the destinations of the Bahamas and Key West, Florida. A great time was had by shopping, seeing shows, visiting an art gallery, playing Bingo and eating delicious food. They look forward to planning another trip soon!
Schilling’s Farm and Market will reopen Thursday, October 24th. They apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Brooks General Store will be closing early this week, Wednesday-Saturday, at 4 PM. All orders need to be in by 3:30.
Brooks Chicken Shack will be open at the fairgrounds Tuesday-Saturday 10 AM-till. They would like to thank everyone for supporting their business in Mt. Hermon and at the Washington Parish Free Fair.
If you are at the fair Saturday, Down By The Branch is the place to be. Big Daddy O will be singing the blues at 11:30 AM, then at 7:30 PM Dean King and Southern Heat will be performing songs of southern rock, country and 80’s rock. These are local talented musicians from Mt. Hermon that you don’t want to miss!
