Hello everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving. Christmas time is here, and there are lots of festivities happening in and around our community.
Christmas Drive Through at the Creek is taking place at Silver Creek Campground this weekend (Dec. 6th and 7th) and next weekend (13th and 14th), from 6-9 PM. It’s only $5 per car to ride through the beautiful lighted Christmas display. Santa will be under the pavilion at 6 PM each night.
The Mt. Hermon Christmas Parade is December 14th at 10 AM. Call or text Darlene Garcia at 985-335-6050 to sign-up or questions. You may enter floats, cars, trucks, go carts, golf carts, dune buggies, horses, wagons or just walk. It’s a great opportunity to advertise your business, church, political office, school or community. All are welcome!

MHS Student Council will host the Christmas 65+ Senior Luncheon this Friday at 11 AM at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church. Please RSVP by calling 985-877-4642.
Congratulations again to Weston Fortenberry. He recently competed in the LHSAA Division V State Cross Country Championship at Northwestern State University. Out of 150 participants, Weston came in at 20th place. That’s amazing! He is thankful for his coach, Mrs. Lynn Lewis, and teammates for all their support, and excited to see what next season brings.
It’s Book Fair time! It’s happening this week in the MHS Library. Students with money will be allowed to shop daily at a designated time.
MHS high school basketball teams will play Kentwood at home on Dec. 5th. Dec. 10th, they will travel to Pine, then back home to play Independence on the 12th.
MHS jr. high basketball is about to be wrapping up their season. Dec. 5th, they have an away game in Franklinton. Dec. 9th and 10th is the Parish Championship games in Varnado. Good luck to you all!

The Young at Hearts will meet at the church this Saturday at 11:30 AM for their December gathering. They are sure to have a jolly good time!
Our “Hee Haw” Christmas program is Sunday, December 22nd at 6 PM, with food and fellowship afterwards. All are invited. Be ready to laugh and feel the Christmas spirit!
