Greetings Everyone! Hopefully you are dealing with this extremely hot weather. There is NO way to keep cool, unless you are inside, sitting in front of the A/C. It's been 11 days, August 4-14, no rain and is dry. Maybe the Lord will soon send us some rain to cool things off.

Sympathy to the family of Phyllis Alford, age 65. She died Friday, July 26th at her home in the Mt. Pisgah community. Her parents were Keith and Ruth Alford. Her sisters are Sharon and Kathleen of our community. A visitation and funeral service was held at Crain's Funeral Home on Monday, July 29th, with Bro. Lenard Smith officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Pisgah church cemetery. Following the service lunch was prepared and served for the family and friends and was greatly appreciated. Phyllis will be remembered by her sweet smiling face and the times Frances and I took the G.a's to visit her. She loved the attention and the little treats we carried her. I can just see her smiling at the powder on the puff, and saying-mu-mu that smells good and cracking a big smile. She was loved by everyone. You couldn't help but love her and her sweet smile. She was one of a kind.
Please continue to pray for the sick, shut-ins, lonely and the bereaved.
Signing off for now. Stay tuned for more news in the weeks to come. By all means take good care of yourself, check on the elderly to make sure they are ok. Always remember, it is more blessed to give than receive! Keep On Smiling, it looks good on you! Prayerfully Nell.
