Greetings once again! Can you believe it's September? It's still summertime. Some days are hotter than others. We haven't had rain for several days now. We did get some rain on August 15th and again on the 18th. No rain since, and it's getting dry. Maybe the Lord will soon send us some. One thing for sure is he knows it's really dry. By the time you read, hopefully the ground will be moist with some tears from heaven.
My first day at school was Friday, August 16th. I was happy to be back and to see all these smiling faces. There are also some new faces on the MHS teams teaching the students, helping to make a difference in their lives. It takes us all to work together.
Our ladies met in the church fellowship hall for our August WMU meeting. As usual we had a nice visit with each other, prayer time and made up seven sunshine baskets. In attendance were Frances Schilling, Valeria Goings, Martha Miller, Sue Alford, and I.

Dusty Schilling recently had a birthday. Family members celebrated the special occasion at the home of his mother Frances Schilling. His mom made his special/favorite cake.
Congratulations to Gale Williams who recently got yard of the moth. I heard several bragging on how nice it looked.
Connie Jenkins called me the other day. It was great hearing from her. She now lives in Denham Springs. It had been some time ago when I last heard from her. She gets The Era-Leader and looks forward to reading my column. Connie, let me hear from you. Don't wait so long next time.
We would love to have you join us for services at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. Services are Sunday School at 9:30 am, worship at 10:30 am, Sunday night at 5 pm, Wednesday night/prayer meeting at 6 pm. Also, the children and youth began meeting tonight at 6 pm.
Heartfelt sympathy is sent out to the family of Rickie Stier who passed away July 16th. He was 70 years old and a resident of the Franklinton area. He was married to Donna Stier for 42 years. She misses him very much. I met him a couple years ago when Jackie and I went out to his house to pick blackberries. He also helped us pick some. Donna, you are in our prayers.
Please continue to pray for the sick, shut-in, lonely, bereaved, our church family, our country, and each other. Folks, we are in trouble dtimes and probably will get worse as time goes by.
Signing off for now. I look forward to visiting with you next week- Same time, same stations. Take care of yourself and your family. Prayerfully Nell.
