Baby, It's Cold Outside!
For all those folds who were wishing for cold weather, you got your wish. We've had ice on the windshield, frost, and lover temperatures. I was a school some of those colder days and the wind felt as if it was off ice. For us who are not crazy about the cold weather, we will have to grin and bear it and be happy when it's over.
At the time of this writing, Wednesday, December 4th, I had school and had duty. As the kids got off the bus, I sang to them "Baby, It's Cold Outside". I had on a coat but no gloves. Next time I will have on some gloves. Just before leaving school, it began sprinkling rain. I was glad to get home and get warmed up. By the way, this saying hangs on my door, a gift from a friend.
A bountiful Thanksgiving was celebrated with family and friends throughout our country. Those I talked with had a blessed day with a variety of foods on the table. My Thanksgiving started with dinner for our church family on Sunday before Thanksgiving. On Wednesday I went to the Council on Aging with my sister Lorell. Thursday was Thanksgiving Day. First, I picked up free lunches at Michell's in town and ate with Bryan at home. Later I visited with Charlie and Jose' for more eating and bringing my favorites home with me. That night my granddaughter Jennifer brought us plates. We had food for two or three days.
I had eaten six different types of dressing, some I liked better than others, but I was very thankful to those who prepared the food. After all that rich food we were happy to have fresh mustard green and corn bread. I had enough dressing for a while. Maybe by the next holiday I'll be ready for some more.
School was closed November 25-29th for the holiday break. Everyone reported having a great week but went by fast. On Monday, the students seem to be a little sluggish. It had come time to get back to school and the routine. No more sleeping late.
I recently visited with Celia Painter. She is recuperating from foot surgery. We enjoyed our visit and had some good laughs. We even talked about years passed of good times. Hope she will soon be able to walk again.
Another fun time was seeing Jacob Eder again when Jackie and I went to Hammond. Also going were Charlie, Jose' and Chris. Then on another occasion Chris drove me and Jackie to Ponchatoula where Jacob was singing. My friend Konnie Knight, her son and 2 others also came. It was great to be with them. Jocob put on another great show. Thanks to Chris for taking us. Lots of fun was had.

There are many who are sick in our community. They need a touch from the Lord. Also, pray for our missionaries and our country. Join us in prayer for the sick, shut-ins and bereaved families.
Signing off for now. Take care and keep safe and warm. I'll visit with you next week -Prayerfully, Nell
