Thank the Lord the weather wasn't as bad as predicted on Wednesday morning April 10th. We got rain and some strong wind. Tornados were predicted. There were lots of limbs on River Road, but no trees. Once again, we were blessed.
We will collect the AAEO through the month of April. Money goes to support our home missionaries in service for the Lord, sharing the good news. Your support is greatly appreciated.
The March meeting of our WMU ladies met at the church with six attending. The meeting opened with prayer request. The program was on the week of prayer and the A.A.E.O. We made up two sunshine boxes for delivery. Attending were Frances Schilling, Valerie Goings, Florine Sorrel, Sue Alford, Marth Miller, and I. We enjoyed visiting and sweet treats.

The teachers and students returned to school on Monday April 8th after being out for a week of Spring Beak. Naturally the students were not ready to come back to school. It's time for LEAP testing. As the ole saying goes, we do what we must do and learn to like it. Hang in everyone, we will soon be out of school for the summer, in about a month.
Christian sympathy goes out to the dear family of Donna Jean Roberts Penton. She passed away Tuesday morning, March 19th at age 80. She couldn't attend church regularly, but it was great to see her when her son Randall brought her. She enjoyed and loved going to church.
The funeral was held at Crain's chapel the following Saturday with burial in the Mt. Pisgah Church cemetery. Red. Leonard Smith, paster of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church officiated. The family appreciated the lunch prepared for them and all the love shown to them.
Thought for the week! God is our refuge and strength, a very pleasant help in trouble. Psalm 46:1
