My husband and I recently went on a day-trip to Biloxi to visit our daughter and granddaughter. Needless to say we had a wonderful time, engaging in spontaneous conversation and laughter that were practically nonstop (we only stopped for lunch). Our granddaughter, Chloe, is 12 yrs. old, smart and polite. I had the pleasure of walking to her bus stop and carrying her book bag for her. She is excited about going to Jr. High School next year and we had an interesting conversation about her class schedule. Taking Spanish is one of the classes she’s looking forward to and she shared that she wants to learn the Korean language also. Chloe showed me a set of flash cards she made from index cards, of Korean words and their pronounciations. She added that she uses google-translator to learn how to pronounce Korean words. Parents, guardians and grandparents, let's continue to listen to our children and refuse to let technology take our place completely.
