Hi Everyone! I hope this beautiful weather lasts throughout the Fair next week. Speaking of beautiful things, not only have I been enjoying this beautiful Fall weather but, I had the pleasure to enjoy some beautiful fellowship last week. The VHS Class of 1977 held their 45th year Class Reunion on October 7th-9th. I am not technically a member of this class, my husband is. I always enjoy their reunions and the pleasant fellowship. One of the highlights of this year’s event was the worship service at Thirkield UMC, with Pastor Nolan Robinson (VHS 1977 Alumni) and the church congregation. His inspiring sermon was from the book of Luke 17:11-19 and was entitled “I know What I Need to Do”. I need to Praise the Lord for all that He has done, is doing and will do! Though my husband doesn’t feel his best most days, he shared that, “They didn’t forget about me”. Now, Ain’t God Good!

*VHS Wildcat Cheerleaders wore pink uniforms in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month at Homecoming.
*The 2022 Homecoming Court Royalty was treated to a Mother/Daughter dinner for their participation in Homecoming Festivities.
***Mr. Quovadis Bickham was crowned Homecoming King and Miss Eliza Seals was crowned the Homecoming Queen, for 2022. Congratulations to you both! In addition, the following Homecoming honors were bestowed:Miss Senior-Kimani Burnet; Football Maid-Miss Jaleena Peters; Miss Junior-Miss Lauryn Smith; Miss Sophomore-Miss Chasidy Dyson and Miss Freshman-Miss Zhyiah Washington.
Wesley Ray Elem. (WRE):
*The 1st of 4 nine weeks of school is completed. Report cards are scheduled to go home on Oct. 12th.
*Last week was National 4-H Week and students were treated to green juice and members gave green apples to faculty and staff. October 5th was World Teachers’ Day and 4-H members recognized and celebrated teachers.
***Students may wear a Pink shirt with uniform bottoms for $1 on Friday, October 14th. All donations will be given to “Breast Cancer Awareness”.
