(Editor's Note: Gwen Pigott's column in the printed edition of The Era-Leader for this week is an accidental repeat of last week's column. Here is the correct column. Our apologies.)
It’s the first Wednesday in the New Year of 2023. I am grateful for the gift of life, which affords me the opportunity to write this column. Writing is something that I love to do and can do effortlessly most of the time. I’ve experienced “writer’s block” a few times, but not for any long periods of time. Hopefully my love for writing and sharing will generate some interesting topics for me to share with you, as I experience this new year of 2023.
Church News:
Sunlight MBC (Sandy Hook, MS):
*My 2023 New Year’s Worship service was with Pastor Charles Galloway and congregation. The sermon was entitled: Shall We Go On Sinning? (Romans 6:1) The worship service singing was conducted by the male chorus and Holy Communion was served. It was good to fellowship with many that I hadn’t seen in a long time.
School News:
Varnado High School (VHS); Wesley Ray Elem. (WRE):
