Hello Everyone! There are so many positive things happening in our communities despite the many challenging situations that can accompany everyday living. One such bright spot in the village of Angie is that a new business is opening up. A combined Dollar Tree/Family Dollar store appears to be nearing completion and is located on Hwy. 21.
Increased and varied resources enrich our beautiful rural areas. The immediate and surrounding communities (including those in MS) will surely benefit from having better access to this store. Also, I saw a sign out front this weekend indicating that they are now ready to start hiring.

*Bishop A.D. Spikes will be the guest speaker @ Fords Chapel MBC in Sandy Hook, MS on Sunday, Jan. 22nd @ 1p.m. The occasion is the 10th year Pastoral Anniversary for Pastor Archie McGowan and Lady C. McGowan. All are invited and welcome to attend.

Varnado High School (VHS):
*The Concerned Citizens of Angie (CCOA) held their 19th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration on Saturday, January 14th at VHS. The event began with a parade and concluded with a program in the school’s gymnasium. Participants on the program recognized former MLK Kings and Queens as well as former principals. The Youth Community Choir rendered selections, Brilliant Mindz and ADAPT gave presentations. Dr. Latricia Warren, VHS Principal was the guest speaker for this occasion. Mr. Levi Lewis, Sr. and Mrs. Katherine N. Lewis were honored as the CCOA MLK parade and program King and Queen for the year 2023.
Reflections:
*While using some products that are common to many of us, I noticed that I was getting a two for one value. The items are Halls cough drops and Dove milk chocolate. The papers from the individually wrapped items have some very inspirational quotes on them as follows: Halls - Power Through; You Can Do It & You Know It; Put Your Game Face On & Keep Your Chin Up….Dove - Keep life moving forward, looking backwards is only for time travelers; Don’t stop until you’re proud & Book the flight.
