Hello Everyone! I hope you all enjoyed the carnival season. I enjoyed the time spent with family the most, while attending a parade. The food, conversation and atmosphere were very fulfilling for me. Now, it is Ash Wednesday. *The Youth of the church held their Annual Black History Program on Sunday, February 12 @ 3pm. The guest speaker for this great event was Rev. Anice Moses.

Varnado High School (VHS):
*Principal of Central Elementary, Ms. Kewanda Michelle August was the guest speaker for the Annual Black History Program on Tuesday, February 14 @ 9:30 am. The theme for this great event was ”From Black Resistance To Black Resilience”. The following support groups performed during the program: VHS Black History Program Choir, Cheer Team, VHS Band, Blue Diamonds, and Blue Angels. In addition, a Business & Organization Expo was held 30 mins prior & after the program.
*The LA State FFA Poultry Show was held on February 11-12. The Exhibition Poultry Placings are as follows: Baileigh Este 2nd, Brody Forbes 3rd, Black Copper Maran Hen and Mclean Burns 4th place Black Copper Maran Hen/3rd Black Copper Maran Cock; Rayleigh Forbes 2nd Black Ameraucana Hen and 1st place and Best Variety Blue Ameraucana Hen; Samantha Harelson 1st and Reserve Variety Blue Ameraucana Cock; Sarah Knight 1st place Black Wyandotte Cock/ 2nd place Black Wyandotte Hen; Tyriona Johnson 3rd Rhode Island Red Bantam Hen, Cheyann Touchstone 4th Rhode Island Red Bantam Cock.
