Wesley Ray UMC:
*The Jefferson Family Reunion Worship Service was presided over by the children of Chinesa and Marshall Jefferson, Sr. Sister Doris J. Harry was the Mistress of Order, Pastor Marshall Jefferson Jr. preached the sermon and other family members formed the choir, as well as ushered. The sermon was from the book of Psalm 150:6. Rev. Marshall reminded those of us present that the reason we go to church is the worship and praise the Lord. He said we should Praise God for what He has done and Praise Him for who He is! After the spirit-filled worship service, the family served dinner for all to enjoy.
First MBC:
*The Annual RYC Camp’s theme is: Up Ended (Isaiah 55:8-9). The camp began on July 10th and continues through July 14th @ Camp Glenwood.
New Zion MBC (Varnado):
*New Zion was the host church for The Second Springhill District Association on July 8-9.
Mt. Zion MBC (Varnado):
*On Saturday, July 1st my granddaughter and I attended the free clothes and home goods giveaway sponsored by the church. We also gladly embraced the prayers offered and I Thank God for them all. #Prayer&Gratefulness
School News:
Varnado High School (VHS):
*June was a busy and productive month for students and staff. To begin, Jr. High students Ian Bland and Teaynna Mark attended the two week 3D printing camp at PHS. and toured the technology departments at NTCC in LaComb and SLU in Hammond. Secondly, McLean Burns and Gabrielle Wiggins competed in the All American Competition. They have also been nominated to participate in a number of well renowned parades! The Jr. High & Varsity Cheer teams attended the UCA Camp in Gulf Shores, AL. Their Sponsor is Cashonda Nichols. *The Summer LEAP 2025 Test was also administered for students who needed it.
