I hope everyone is taking the time to enjoy these cooler mornings. Considering the extreme heat that we have been through, I for one am Thankful to God for this Blessed-Relief, no matter how small.
Church News
Wesley Ray UMC:
*The church celebrated its 147th Homecoming on Sunday, Sept. 10th. Rev. George Burris delivered the message for this blessed event. Rev. Burris’ message was entitled: How to Pray for the Church. He informed us that believers should pray that the people inside the church learn to Love one another like Christ loves us. Amen.
Pilgrims Rest MBC:
*The Homegoing Celebration for Sis. Judy Robinson was held on Saturday, September 16th. Her son, Apostle Kenneth Nichols, delivered the Eulogy from the book of IICorinthians 5:1-2 (Topic: We Need To Know This). His tribute to his mother was honorable and his message to those of us present was a reminder that our “Earthly Tabernacles/bodies” can not enter into Heaven. We who believe in Jesus Christ will have new bodies according to the scriptures. Yes, We Need To Know This. Amen.
School News:
Varnado High School (VHS/VJHS):
*I had the opportunity to attend two Girl’s Volleyball games last week. I not only enjoyed the game but the show of “Good Sportsmanship” shown before (both teams danced together), during and after the game was heartwarming. Great Job Varnado, Independence and Franklinton Coaches on promoting “Unity” among our students!
Community News:
*The Angie Peewee Football League’s next home game is scheduled for Saturday, September 23rd beginning @ 9am. Make plans to be there to support the Youth in our communities.
