This week I have found myself doing things I said I couldn’t do, driving in high city traffic areas I said I couldn’t drive in and driving across the longest bridge over continuous water in LA, which I felt I absolutely couldn’t do. Then I remembered what Philippians 4:13 said, “"I Can Do All Things Through Christ Who Strengthens Me". Amen!

Live Oak UMC:
*Worship and Communion Service was held on Sunday, Dec. 5th (the 2nd Sunday of Advent). Pastor Terrence August’s Sermon was about Preparation ( Malachi 3rd & 4th chapters). He shared that one must live for Christ 24/7 in order to be prepared for the Day of the Lord. Trusting in God prepares us to accept the uncertain, gives us hope and the capacity to encourage others.
First Baptist Church (Varnado):
*A Christmas Fellowship gathering was held on Saturday, Dec. 11th @ 6pm. During this event, ornaments, gifts and Christmas cards were exchanged. In addition, an ugly sweater contest was held and refreshments served.

***C.H.A.M.P.,Inc (Children Having A Motivated Purpose) is having a Winter Clothing Drive Dec. 1st - Dec. 30th to help children in our community, during this holiday season.
