Happy Thanksgiving to each and everyone of you! I hope you have a great week and enjoy time spent with family and friends. I am always so grateful for the week off at Thanksgiving. It used to be because we would travel to Tennessee, but now days just to enjoy my birthday week. We plan to have Thanksgiving at our house, that way it is easier for our families to all come together. I am looking forward to seeing my best friend and her husband who are in from North Carolina. It gets harder as I get older to keep up with everyone, but family and friends who become family are so incredibly important. I am so thankful they all keep me grounded.
Enon Baptist Church will be having a workday on December 3rd. If you would like to participate in evening services and need a ride, please speak with Brother Chris. December 3rd we will be able to participate in the live Life of Christ at Mile Branch Christmas. It will begin at 6 pm and end about 10 pm. The Youth are having various speakers on Sunday nights until they begin their next bible study. We are still taking items for the Washington Parish Food Bank, if you have anything you would like to share. Sunday night we had our Thanksgiving meal, it is always great time to fellowship with our church family. Happy birthday to Jennifer Singleton Bahlinger, Michael Jones, and all others celebrating this week.
The students at Enon Elementary did a phenomenal job decorating their turkeys this year! There was so much creativity and thought put in to each one. Best of Show was McKinley Rice, 1st place Kylan Montelaro, 2nd place Wade Creel, and 3rd place Noah Stewart. We are so proud of our Beta Club Officers who were able to speak at the Washington Parish School Board meeting. They told about service projects that are being done. We received our State Performance Score and Enon Elementary is a Top Gains School. Students and teachers alike did a great job this past year.
Special Olympics was held at Franklinton High School last week. We had several students attend and place. My daughters were so excited to help with it and see all of the kids work so hard! FHS Beta did a great job and was so good with these sweet kiddos! The Enon Elementary 4-H Club sponsored a food drive for the month of November. The nonperishable food items were donated to a local food bank to help those in need. For the month of December, they will participate in a Toy Drive. Our Christmas Program is December 12th.
The Enon Library will be closed November 24th and 25th. If you would like to donate to help support our local animal shelter, the library is accepting blankets, towels, unopened pet food, toys, treats, leashes, collars, harnesses, beds, litter boxes, etc. We love our local shelter, and we hope that all of the animals find their FURever home soon. Have a great week, until next week….
