This past weekend the Franklinton High School Powerlifting Team went to the Salmen Powerlifting Invitational. When I say these ladies and gentlemen can lift some weight, they CAN lift some weight! FHS girls took 1st place overall and the boys took 2nd place. When you have kids lifting a total of more than 1,400-1,500 pounds? (YES you read that correctly!) that is impressive to say the least. I am so proud of this group and how they all cheer each other on, no matter if they know you or not. I can’t wait to see how far this group goes.
The Youth of Enon Baptist Church are selling veggies to help pay for church camp this summer. If you are interested, please contact Miranda Blackwell or myself and we will get your order completed. Thank you so much for supporting our Youth and encouraging them.
My daughter Annalise was baptized this past weekend. We are so grateful for this decision.

Calling all hunters and fishermen and cooks in between! EBC’s Wild Game Cookoff is coming February 25th. Our last Cookoff was amazing and I tried things I wouldn’t normally eat. (It was THAT good!)
Condolences to the families of Richard Newman and Brittany Mistrot.
Happy birthday to Delany Rester, Dylan Rester, my fabulous father Flavius Sharp, one of my amazing brothers Ron Sharp, Annette Stogner, Jeannie Burris, Alyssa Danos, Jaedyn Nevels, Ava Thomas, our fabulous art teacher Haley Mobley, Sarah Perry Sanson, and April Magee.
Enon Elementary School will be having their Book Fair February 13th to 17th. Please visit our book fair website for more information, you can find it on our school Facebook page. The students always LOVE buying books and being able to read them immediately.
Enon Elementary is also looking for a custodian, so if you are interested check it out!
Our Enon Eagles have enjoyed going to the Enon Library to listen to stories, watch puppets, and check out books. They have been discussing snowmen, snowflakes, and Pete the Cat! The last Friday of the month at 2 pm will be another Scrabble meet at the library. They had two tables filled this time, next time let’s make it three or more! Check out their Facebook page for more information and exciting things coming up.
I pray you all have a great week ahead. We have a lot to prepare for this upcoming week. The Youth having their Lock-In, then Literary Rally on Saturday, along with an LSU Basketball game as well. While we are at LSU, may as well do a little tour of the campus since it is one of Gracie’s choices for college.
If you have any family reunions, meetings, weddings, etc you would like for me to share, you can email me at karen.thigpen@yahoo.com. Until next time!
