This is the week! It is GO TIME for Mike Sharp! Mike’s birthday was June 12th, and his new birthday is June 14th! He will receive his bone marrow transplant on this day, so if you have a FIGHT LIKE MIKE shirt, please wear it that day. Of course, we ask for everyone to pray for Mike and that this procedure will do its job and he will be healed.
We also ask for prayers for the donor who already gave their bone marrow, that they are healthy and well. I sure hope to one day meet them. It is amazing how “ignorant” I was about certain things before all of this. Did you know that families have to wait a year to know who a bone marrow donor is, just like organ transplants? I had no idea, I thought because it was like a blood product it didn’t matter. We are grateful for all of the doctors, nurses, therapists, and everyone who has had a hand in Mike’s care.
It was great to see Enon Baptist Church’s former pastor Michael Cooke, his wife Jamie, and their children Sawyer, Lola, Jameson, and Ollie this past Sunday. We love and miss all of our former pastors and we are thankful for their time spent with us. Michael actually baptized Gracie when she was younger.
Enon Baptist Church is having a great time with our VBS this summer, learning about the armor of God, and the Keep of the Kingdom. Please bring your kiddos out on Wednesday nights until June 28th. Dinner is at 5:30 pm and VBS is 6 pm to 8 pm. If you would like to help in some capacity at the church please contact Brother Chris; we would love to have you.
There was an excellent turn out for Movie on the Levee Night. The movie Jesus Revolution was shown, and my girls absolutely loved it.
There was a Parish Wide Youth Revival at the Washington Parish Fairgrounds this past weekend. I hate I couldn’t make it but there was a good turnout.
Happy birthday to Mike Sharp, Mason Inabitt, Suzanne Hughes, and Danielle Lynette Polky Brumfield.
I hope all of the Dads out there have a wonderful Father’s Day spent with family. This is my first Father’s Day without mine, and I will be in Kentucky with Gracie and Annalise at Beta Nationals, so I am hoping that it is a day filled with great memories.
When you are out and about, if you haven’t already registered your child for Pre-K or Kindergarten, please do so. We have amazing staff, and we are excited to teach your children. We want them to be as successful as they can be! Check out our Face Book page to see what paperwork is needed and we hope to see you soon!
Also, while you are out, stop by the Enon Library and check out a book, video, or just visit with our sweet librarians. The Summer Reading Program is in full swing, and the students are having a great time at the performances. I hope you all have a wonderful week. Until next time…
